Body
WHEREAS, Hannah Jones, daughter of Dr. Randall Jones and Dr. Rosemary Jones and a junior at Lee's Summit North High School, has earned the highest possible score of 36 on the ACT college entrance exam which includes testing in English, math, reading, and science; and,
WHEREAS, Hannah is one of two Missouri students and one of twenty-three students nationally to accomplish this notable task on the December ACT exam; and,
WHEREAS, according to ACT officials, approximately ten Missouri students and close to 250 students nationally will score a 36 on the ACT during each year; and,
WHEREAS, Hannah has earned a position in the top one percent of her class, was chosen to attend the Missouri Scholars Academy, named as the Pre-International Baccalaureate Biology Student of the Year her freshman year, and named as the Pre-International Baccalaureate Algebra II Student of the year her sophomore year; and,
WHEREAS, Hannah is a participant in Math Club, Science Knowledge Bowl, and a recent inductee into the Lee's Summit North High School National Honor Society; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to her academic achievements, Hannah volunteers at adoption clinics for Kansas City Retired Greyhounds As Pets and One Good Meal and enjoys studying piano; and,
WHEREAS, Hannah's future plans are to attend college to pursue the study of medicine; and,
WHEREAS, she deserves the highest of praise for her many academic accomplishments and her service to the community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Hannah Jones for earning a perfect ACT score, extends appreciation for ...
