Body
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County's Smart Moves program is designed to help young people develop skills to resist alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse; and,
WHEREAS, this program is funded by a grant from the City of Independence, in the amount of $22,028.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County has requested anti-drug sales tax funds in the amount of $22,028.00, as a local match to the city grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Jackson County, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
