INTRODUCED BY John Patrick Burnett, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, under the City - County Cooperative Agreement - Common Sense in Government proposed by the County Executive and Mayor of the City of Kansas City, the City and County have pledged to combine and consolidate governmental functions and services so as to more efficiently and economically operate City and County governments; and,

WHEREAS, one facet of this initiative is a proposal whereunder the City will collect on the County's behalf the liquor license fees imposed by Chapter 41 of the County Code, from all establishments which are holders of both City and County liquor licenses, in connection with the establishments' annual renewal of their City liquor licenses; and,

WHEREAS, for this service, the City will retain a one-percent service charge, which will result in a significant savings to the County over what the County's previous costs had been in providing these services on its own; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreement provides a suitable mechanism for the implementation of this proposal; now therefore,
