Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and,

WHEREAS, Resolution 11916, dated October 20, 1997, authorized the Director of Purchasing to execute a contract out of anti-drug sales tax funds with County Court Services for the furnishing of case management and group and individual counseling services for participants in the Prosecuting Attorneys Deferred Prosecution and Drug Court Programs at a cost to the County not to exceed $638,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 12160, dated April 6, 1998, the Legislature authorized the County Executive to enter into a First Addendum to Agreement at an increased cost to the County of $20,400.00; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 12391, dated October 13, 1998, the Legislature authorized the County Executive to enter into a Second Addendum to Agreement at an increased cost to the County of $750,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 12858, dated August 23, 1999, the Legislature authorized the County Executive to enter into a Third Addendum to Agreement at an increased cost to the County of $450,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney now recommends increasing this contract in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00 to allow for the provision of these services, at a new total cost to the County not to exceed $1,868,400.00, upo...
