Body
WHEREAS, the voters of the County approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended a contract out of anti-drug sales tax funds with the Kansas City Crime Commission for the Metropolitan Community Services Program to provide placement and supervision services for the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution and Drug Court Programs; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with the Kansas City Crime Commission for the Metropolitan Community Services Program, in a general form as approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
