WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Sheila Solon was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, representing in the 55th District in Blue Springs; and,
WHEREAS, Sheila campaigned for new jobs and economic development, quality education for everyone, accountability in government, a strong, dynamic healthcare system, and protecting our freedom; and,
WHEREAS, Sheila comes to the General Assembly having served as Mayor Pro-tem and a member of the City Council for the City of Blue Springs, Chair of the Blue Springs Planning Commission, Chair of the Development Advisory Commission, Chair of the Comprehensive Plan Review Commission, and Chair of the Multi-Family Task Force Commission; and,
WHEREAS, Sheila has also served on the Board of Zoning and Adjustment, Charter Review Committee, City Area Plan Committee, Capital Improvements Committee, Bond Task Force Committee, and the Citizen's Police Academy; and,
WHEREAS, Sheila has been active in her local schools including serving on the Parent-Teacher Association Boards at Cordill-Mason Elementary School and Moreland Ridge Middle School; and,
WHEREAS, Sheila is supported in her public service endeavors by her husband of 24 years, Charlie, and their two children, daughter, Lindsey and son, Spencer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Sheila Solon on her election to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 55th District, and wishes her much success in the future.
