Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2913, dated April 12, 1999, the County Legislature authorized the County Executive to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, MO, for the Midwest H.I.D.T.A. Kansas City Metropolitan Enforcement Initiative Task Force, whereunder the Board reimburses the County for 100% of the salary of an assistant prosecuting attorney; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3008, dated March 13, 2000, Resolution 13275, dated July 10, 2000, Ordinance 3083, dated October 16, 2000, and Ordinance 3120, dated January 22, 2001, the Legislature did authorize First, Second, Third and Fourth Addenda to this Memorandum modifying and extending the Memorandum; and,
WHEREAS, the parties now desire to extend the agreement, as amended for an additional one-year period; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Fifth Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the understanding of the parties; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the appropriate spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her proposed 2001 County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
