Body
WHEREAS, the County Legislative Auditor, in his recent audit of the Public Administrator's Office, recommended that a system of internal controls be developed; and,

WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to make available funds necessary to cover the costs of hiring a consultant to assist in this matter; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1996 General Fund:

Unappropriated Surplus $45,000

Public Administrator Other Professional Services $45,000

Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon signature by the County Executive.
