AN ORDINANCE appropriating $5,007.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Grant Fund to cover the grant for the Santa Fe National Historic Trail Program for the Parks and Recreation Department, funded by the National Park Service and the transfer of matching funds, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the National Park Service for this program.

Body
WHEREAS, the County has been advised that it has been awarded a grant for the Santa Fe National Historic Trail Program from the National Park Service; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will allow the installation of an interpretive sign and the landscaping of the area of the sign; and,
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for this program is $5,007.00 and the National Park Service will reimburse 50% of the costs up to $2,500.00 and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this program, an appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Grant Fund and a transfer of matching funds are necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the county executive recommends this appropriation and transfer; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which funds for the grant can be implemented; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the 1997 Grant Fund to cover the grant for the Santa Fe National Historic Trail Program funded by the National Park Service and the transfer of matching funds:
