Body
WHEREAS, Rebbecca Lake Wood, the Public Administrator for Jackson County, recently received the designation as a National Master Guardian by the Center for Guardianship Certification; and,
WHEREAS, this exceptional accomplishment is bestowed upon a select group of individuals who are involved in guardianship issues and who meet a high set of standards and practices; and,
WHEREAS, Rebbecca received this certification for her efforts advocating for her clients and for her professional case management of more than 1,200 decedent, minor, and guardianship estates; and,
WHEREAS, Rebbecca holds a juris doctor degree and is licensed to practice law in Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, Rebbecca accepted appointment as Jackson County Public Administrator in February 2000, after working on probate issues in private practice and, in her role, she directs a team of 24 employees overseeing predominantly indigent estates; and,
WHEREAS, Rebbecca is a voice for her clients to the professional community, urging lawmakers to provide sufficient resources to provide care for persons who cannot care for themselves; and,
WHEREAS, she has participated in the development of several mental health community action groups to advocate for better care for persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, head injuries, and dementia; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Rebbecca Lake Wood on her receipt of National Master Guardian Certification by the Center for Guardianship Certification.
