Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16115, dated December 4, 2006, the Legislature did express its intent to fund the 2006 Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration, at a cost to the County not to exceed $60,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, in keeping with that expressed intent, the County now desires to enter into an agreement with United Inner City Services (UICS) whereunder the County will pay a sum not to exceed $60,000.00 to UICS to be used by UICS for funding the 2007 Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a cooperative agreement on behalf of the County with UICS, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, at a cost to the County not to exceed $60,000.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
