Body
WHEREAS, by section 193.265, RSMo, voluntary donations in the amount of $1.00 may be solicited from purchasers of copies of birth certificates from the Health Department of Kansas City, Missouri, for use by the Jackson County Housing Resources Commission to assist homeless families and provide financial assistance to organizations addressing homelessness in the County; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri ("City") has agreed to solicit and remit any voluntary donations received for that purpose; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into a Cooperative Agreement between the City and the County for the remittance of the voluntary donations; and,
WHEREAS, the Executive Director of the Housing Resources Commission recommends the execution of the attached agreement; and,
WHEREAS, this cooperative agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
