Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4350, dated September19, 2011, the Legislature did authorize the acceptance of the 2011 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) in the amount of $807,447.00, received from the U.S. Department of Justice, for the period October 1, 2010, to September 30, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has requested, and the U.S. Department of Justice has approved, a one-year extension of this grant; and,
WHEREAS, the requested extension will allow for the continuation of funding for salary and benefits for the employees of the Jackson County Drug Court through September 30, 2015; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the 2011 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice, be and hereby is extended until September 30, 2015; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive and all other County officials be and hereby are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to the extension.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
