Body
WHEREAS, the 2.3 mile loop trail at Lake Jacomo in Fleming Park is in need of renovation; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources accepts applications made under the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) for a grant-in-aid of 50 percent of the total project cost and/or 75 percent of total project cost for renovation/restoration of park facilities; and,
WHEREAS, if a grant is awarded, the County will accept all responsibilities under the LWCF Act, including, but not limited to, maintenance of the park for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity, compliance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, underground wiring of all telephone and electrical wires under 15 KV within the park both under this project and in the future, and provision of facilities which are accessible to and usable by the physically disabled; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Parks and Recreation Department is hereby authorized to make application for a grant from the Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
