Body
WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 62 ("Pack 62") is celebrating its 60th birthday; and,
WHEREAS, on October 18, 1945, Pack 62 applied for and received its first charter through the sponsorship of the Mother's Club of Boone School, which later became the Boone School PTA; and,
WHEREAS, with this sponsorship, Pack 62 received its charter from the Heart of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America; and,
WHEREAS, the leadership of Pack 62 requires the active support and cooperation of the Chartered Organization Representative, Pack Committee Chairperson, Cubmaster, Den leaders, and others; and,
WHEREAS, Cub Scouting focuses on boys from 1st grade to 5th grade and is the first of three levels of Scouting; and,
WHEREAS, the Cub Scout Oath is "I, (scout's name), promise to do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to other people, and to obey the Law of the Pack."; and,
WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 62 is instrumental in helping boys build good character and values and develop into model citizens and leaders in the community; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature honor Cub Scout Pack 62 on its 60th birthday of October 18, 2005, and wishes the membership great success in the years to come.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
