WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written proposals on Request for Proposals No. 1-96 for the furnishing of inmate pay telephone system and services for use by the Corrections Department; and,
WHEREAS, he has received seven proposals thereon as follows:

and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends award of the contract be made to North American InTeleCom, Inc., of San Antonio, TX, for the reason that it has submitted the highest and best proposal; and,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made to AT&T, Inc., of Dallas, TX, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
