Body
WHEREAS, Theresa Cass Galvin will be leaving her position as Jackson County Legislator representing the Sixth District on December 31, 2022, and it is appropriate that on the occasion of her final meeting, the Legislature should honor and recognize her dedicated service to the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Theresa was elected to the Legislature in 2014 and is known for her advocacy for fair wages for County associates, and diligent communication with her constituents; and,
WHEREAS, Theresa has lived in Jackson County most of her life and is a graduate of Hickman Mills High School; and,
WHEREAS, throughout her career she has worked predominantly in business management in the construction industry; and,
WHEREAS, Theresa is the daughter of a United States Air Force veteran and has supported veteran and senior citizens issues; and,
WHEREAS, in her spare time, Theresa enjoys riding her motorcycle and spending time with her family, including staying in close contact with her mother who lives in Florida; and,
WHEREAS, as County Legislator, Theresa served as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Budget Committee Chairman; and,
WHEREAS, Theresa's husband Bill, her four children, and five grandchildren all join in honoring Theresa for her service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes Theresa Cass Galvin for her eight years of dedicated service to the citizens of Jackson County and extends best wishes for all of her future endeavors.
