Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17410, dated November 8, 2010, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to exercise an option to purchase from the City of Independence, MO, property located at 315 N. Main St., Independence, MO, to be renovated for use as the site of the Prosecuting Attorney's MyARTS Program; and,

WHEREAS, the required environmental remediation of the property is complete and the County is now ready to move forward with construction on the renovation project; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 09-2011 for the MyARTS Renovation Project, No. 3141; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has received five bids thereon, with the three lowest bids as follows:

Raymore, MO $720,690.00

Larrison Construction, Inc.
Independence, MO $750,100.12

N.W. Rogers Construction, Inc.
Blue Springs, MO $796,400.00



WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the Prosecuting Attorney recommend that award be made to R.L. Phillips Construction, Inc., for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,

WHEREAS, the project was bid with alternates and the Director of Public Works recommends the addition of line item No. 43, New Marquee Lighting, bringing the base bid to a total award of $739,190.00; and,
