Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, has been awarded a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant by the United States Department of Justice in the amount of $2,615,667.00 for the purposes of reducing crime and improving public safety; and,

WHEREAS, the City proposes to contract with the County for the expenditure of $100,000.00 in principal and interest of this sum for the purpose of providing urinalysis equipment, staff, and technical assistant for the Prosecuting Attorney's Drug Court program; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreements provide suitable mechanisms for the transfer of these grant funds; and,

WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to implement these measures; now therefore,


BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1998 General Fund:
