Body
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has certain personal property, to wit a windmill known as the "Old Windmill" located on Fairway #10 at the Longview Golf Course, that has become excess to the County's needs; and,

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Purchasing Director has declared this property surplus; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 102-96 for the sale of this windmill; and,

WHEREAS, there were no bids received on Bid No 102-96; and,

WHEREAS, by letter dated September 7, 1996, from John Swearngin to Bettie Yahn-Kramer of the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department, Mr. Swearngin indicated his interest in purchasing the windmill for $75.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that a sale be made to John Swearngin of Lee's Summit, MO, in the amount of $75.00 for the reason that he is the only person who has indicated an interest in the windmill; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the windmill be and hereby is declared surplus; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Purchasing is hereby authorized to dispose of said surplus property by way of sale to the John Swearngin; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of this sale.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
