Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County's Agreement for Law Enforcement services with the Jackson County Drug Task Force requires the Task Force to follow the County's purchasing procedures in its procurement of goods and services; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Task Force recommends a contract with CODY Computer Services of Pottstown, PA, for the furnishing of CODY computer software for its use; and,
WHEREAS, the Task Force further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that CODY Computer Services of Pottstown, PA, is the only known supplier of the specific computer software sought; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Task Force, and that the Task Force be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with CODY Computer Services of Pottstown, PA, for the furnishing of computer software for its use, in an amount not to exceed $21,300.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.
