Body
WHEREAS, John Neger has achieved the prestigious honor of being elected the Missouri Department Commander for 2005-2006; and,

WHEREAS, as Department Commander, John will be in charge of over 57,000 members of the State of Missouri American Legion; and,

WHEREAS, during his tenure with the American Legion, John served as Adjutant of Post 596 of Raytown, MO, Commander of Post 596 of Raytown, MO, Adjutant for the 5th District, Commander for the 5th District, Department Zone 2 Vice Commander, Department Senior Vice Commander; and,

WHEREAS, John served as the Assistant Purchasing Manager for the Jackson County Purchasing Department from 1973-1977 and is also a 1996 retired employee from the City of Kansas City Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, John is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, the Marine Corps Association, the Amvets, the Korean War Veterans Association, the University of Missouri Alumni Association and is a life member and correspondent for the 40&8 Voiture Trois and a member of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates John Neger for his outstanding achievements and for being elected as American Legion's Missouri Department Commander.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
