A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Cooperative Agreement and associated deeds and easements identified in the agreement with the City of Independence, Selsa Road, Inc., and the Little Blue Community Improvement District, in connection with the Little Blue River Trace Park.

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Independence has requested permission from the County to install, operate, and maintain a stormwater transmission main across the Little Blue River Trace Park for the Hartman Center Development; and,
WHEREAS, to effect this construction, the County has negotiated the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Independence, Selsa Road, Inc., and the Little Blue Community Improvement District; and,
WHEREAS, under this agreement, the County will deed to the City .7 acres for Jackson Drive road right-of-way and the developer will deed to the county 2.4 acres adjacent to the park; and,
WHEREAS, the developer will also construct a concrete bike trail on the park and an asphalt parking lot at the trail head, grade and landscape the park adjacent to the development, and install a footbridge over the Little Blue River, all at an estimated cost of $240,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement and associated conveyance instruments on behalf of the County.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
