Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16611, dated April 14, 2008, the Legislature did award a twenty-four month term and supply contract on Invitation to Bid No. 9-08 for the furnishing of body transfer services for use by the Medical Examiner's Office to Crime Scene Cleaners, LLC, of Overland Park, KS, to provide for departmental needs; and,

WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of Resolution 16611, the Medical Examiner has advised that the successful bidder is unwilling to execute a contract with the County meeting all of the requirements of the bid specifications, including served deemed critical by the Medical Examiners; and,

WHEREAS, in view of this position of the successful bidder, the Medical Examiner and Director of Finance and Purchasing Department now recommend that Resolution 16611 be rescinded and that the contract be awarded to Metro Removal of Overland Park, KS, the current vendor and only other bidder, which has indicated a willingness to continue provide these services at the rates specified in its response to Bid 9-08; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments,...
