RESOLUTION # 14211, June 10, 2002

INTRODUCED BY Scott Burnett, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Samuel Scott Burnett, a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 24, has successfully completed all requirements to attain scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and,

WHEREAS, Samuel has been a scout for nine years, served as patrol leader and instructor at Troop 24, and has earned 26 merit badges; and,

WHEREAS, his Eagle Scout project was to dispose of household hazardous wastes in the Roanoke Neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, on this project, he coordinated with the City of Kansas City, sent e-mails, distributed flyers, and recruited volunteers with trucks to collect the household hazardous waste items; and,

WHEREAS, in 2000, he attended Packard High Adventure Camp in Colorado; and,

WHEREAS, he also attended H. Bartle Roe Scout Reservation for many years and served as a Bartle staff member in 2001; and,


WHEREAS, Samuel's proud parents are Scott and Rhonda Burnett of Kansas City, Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, Samuel will be recognized at his Eagle Court of Honor to be held at the Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 16, 2002, at 2:30pm; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Samuel Scott Burnett upon successfully completing all requirements to attain scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
