INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Emily Griffith is a senior at Lee's Summit High School and will be a member of the 2010 graduating class; and,

WHEREAS, Emily has obtained numerous academic achievements during her time at Lee's Summit High School, including being named a 2010 National Merit Finalist, a member of the 2010 Missouri Scholars 100 program based on exemplary grades, test score, and school citizenship, earning a space on the Lee's Summit High School honor roll during all 4 years of high school, earning her letters in Science Olympiad, Theatre, Robotics, Music and Academics; and,

WHEREAS, Emily has been active in extracurricular activities including the Lee's Summit High School Marching Band, where she has been a member for 4 years and drum major for 3, the Lee's Summit High School Symphonic Band, the Lee's Summit High School Symphony Orchestra, the Lee's Summit High School Choir and Chamber Choir, Lee's Summit High School fall musicals, the Kansas City Youth Symphony, the Science Olympiad team, the Tiger Mentor program, the FIRST Robotics team, and the National Honor Society; and,
WHEREAS, Emily will be attending the University of Oklahoma and pursuing a course of study focused on biology and pre-med following her graduation; and,

WHEREAS, Emily's recent recognition by the Missouri Scholars 100 program required nomination by her school, a minimum GPA of 3.750, a minimum ACT score of 29 or a minimum SAT score of 1900, and being ranked in the top ten percent of her class; and,

WHEREAS, Emily has been supported in all of her achievements by her parents, Scott and Lynn, and her older sister, Hillary; now therefore,
