Body
WHEREAS, since 2016 the County Counselor has contracted with Ronald L. Jurgeson of Lee's Summit, MO, to provide independent legal services and representation to the County's Board of Equalization (BOE); and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20085, dated February 11, 2019, the Legislature did authorize an extension of this contract through December 31, 2019, at no additional cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20216, dated August 5, 2019, the Legislature authorized an increase to this contract in the amount of $17,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor now recommends an additional increase to this contract to compensate Mr. Jurgeson for the time that will be necessary to adequately advise the BOE through the upcoming December appeals dockets, at a cost to the County not to exceed $10,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Acting Director of Human Resources has advised that she is in need of an independent investigation to be conducted on a pending personnel matter; and,
WHEREAS, Encompass Resolutions of Kansas City, MO, which submitted a response to the County's recent RFQ 29-19 for legal services, is a highly qualified firm, fully capable of conducting the required investigation; and,
WHEREAS, Encompass Resolutions has satisfactorily completed several similar investigations for the County in recent years; and,
WHEREAS, Encompass Resolutions has estimated that it can perform this investigation at a cost not to exceed $6,650.00; a...
