A RESOLUTION congratulating Adele Hall and the Hall family for their ongoing community involvement through their charitable and good-hearted initiatives within Jackson County and throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Body
WHEREAS, there are certain families within Jackson County who exhibit the spirit of giving through their charitable actions; and,
WHEREAS, one such family is the Hall family, known for their charitable giving and philanthropic initiatives; and,
WHEREAS, in 1998, Kansas City was selected to host Family Volunteer Day, an event that goes nationwide on November 20, 1999, and is headed by Adele Hall, chairperson for the steering committee; and,
WHEREAS, this event honors families who volunteer their time in order to improve their communities; and,
WHEREAS, the Heart of America Family Services will be awarding for the first time during National Family Week this year the Hall Family Matters Award, created by Adele Hall for the purpose of recognizing a family whose members volunteer together and exhibit dedication to addressing community needs; and,
WHEREAS, recognition of this newly-created award is to be presented by Adele Hall and the event is to be held at the Folly Theater on November 22, 1999, honoring Richard, Mary, Richard Jr., Nick, and Jonathon Scott, a family that exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism; and,
WHEREAS, sincere gratitude and admiration go out to Adele Hall and the Hall family for giving of their time, money, and talents, addressing the needs of our community, and for creating this prestigious award to honor a family who volunteers their time together for a worthwhile cause; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, that the legislators
