Body
WHEREAS, Antonio I. Raya, Boy Scout Troop 106, was awarded the highest rank of Eagle Scout on March 22, 2009, at Guadalupe Centers, Inc; and,
WHEREAS, Tony has been very active in Scouting, achieving all ranks as a Cub Scout, attending Cub Scout Day Camp, and participating as a Webelo scout; and,
WHEREAS, Tony received awards for Scouting at the Rain Gutter Regatta and Pine Wood Derby, earned the Arrow of Light badge, attended the National Scout Jamboree in 2005, and, upon turning 18, has begun training as an adult leader with Troop 106; and,
WHEREAS, Tony, an 18-year-old senior at Bishop Ward High School, has completed many hours of community service, including service in the areas of community, religion, and serving the disadvantaged; and,
WHEREAS, Tony's Eagle project consisted of painting the entrance doors and handrails at his church, Holy Name; and,
WHEREAS, Tony is actively involved in the church, is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and assists with fundraisers at the church; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Antonio I. Raya on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, and wishes him great success in his future endeavors.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
