A RESOLUTION commending the owner and employees of Champion Chrysler-Plymouth-Jeep of Independence, Missouri, for their meritorious offering of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo as a reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Sam and Lindsey Porter.

Body
WHEREAS, Sam and Lindsey Porter have been missing since June 5th, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, the whereabouts of the children are unknown; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the community to come together and strive to bring the children home to their family; and,
WHEREAS, Champion Chrysler-Plymouth-Jeep of Independence has offered a reward of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo as incentive for someone to come forward with information leading to the whereabouts of Sam and Lindsey Porter; and,
WHEREAS, the employees pledged to pay half of the cost for the $30,000.00 vehicle and the dealership's owner, Ed Parker, pledged to pay the rest of the cost; and,
WHEREAS, Ed Parker also announced that if someone did not want the Jeep reward, he would donate $30,000.00, the cost of the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to that person; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature commends Ed Parker and the employees of Champion Chrysler-Plymouth-Jeep of Independence for their remarkable generosity in offering this reward of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and for their exemplary leadership in the effort to find Sam and Lindsey Porter.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
