INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, Fred Arbanas, John Patrick Burnett, Dennis Waits, Victor E. Callahan, Dan Tarwater, Dixie M. Flynn, and John C. Graham, County Legislators

Body
WHEREAS, the Reverend James Dennis Tindall attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Carver Bible Institute, and Western Bible College, and received a B.A. degree in journalism and B.S. degree in theology; and,

WHEREAS, on November 4, 1980, Reverend Tindall was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, where he represented the citizens of the 23rd District for one term, serving on the Ethics, Governmental Review, and Social Services and Medicaid Committees; and,

WHEREAS, in 1982 he was elected to the Jackson County Legislature, where he has represented the 4th District for four years and the 2nd District for almost ten years; and,

WHEREAS, his fellow legislators chose Reverend Tindall to serve as Vice Chairman of the Legislature in 1985, and as Chairman for the years 1986 and 1990-96; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Tindall chaired the Health and Justice Committee in 1983-84 and 1987, and served as a member of the Finance and Audit and Intergovernmental Affairs Committees in 1983-85 and 1988-89, and a member of the Public Works Committee in 1984; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Tindall has additionally held office as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Little Blue Valley Sewer District and the Executive Board of the Missouri Association of Counties; and,

WHEREAS, for over nineteen years Reverend Tindall has presided as pastor of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, where he has committed his time to meeting the needs of his congregation; and,
