Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11199, dated March 4, 1996, the Legislature did authorize the Director of the Department of Finance to make payments totalling $166,839.72 in 1996 to the Corrigan Building Corp., required by the Kansas City Election Board's lease for space in the Corrigan Building in downtown Kansas City, necessitated by the construction of the new Detention Center Annex; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 11251, dated April 15, 1996, the Legislature did authorize the Director of the Department of Finance to make additional payments totalling $25,000, to pay for unanticipated remodeling expenses associated with the Election Board's move into the Corrigan Building; and,

WHEREAS, the Election Board has now advised that it is in need of additional storage space in the Corrigan Building not included in the original lease; and,

WHEREAS, the Corrigan Building Corp. is willing to provide the necessary additional space at a cost of $166.67 per month, or $1,166.69 for the remainder of 1996, of which one-half or $583.35 is to be borne by Jackson County and the remaining one-half by the City of Kansas City; and,

WHEREAS, these additional funds were appropriated in the newly- created Justice Improvement Fund in the 1996 Jackson County Budget; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make additional payments not to exceed $583.35, for a new total not to exceed $192,423.07, to the Corrigan Building Corp., upo...
