Body
WHEREAS, J. Alexander Lynn, a senior at Lee's Summit North High School in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District, has been selected to perform in the All-National Concert Band; and,

WHEREAS, Alexander is a three-time Missouri All-State Band clarinetist and is among just six Missouri students selected for the national honor; and,

WHEREAS, the All-National Concert Band will perform at the National Association for Music Education's National In-service Conference, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, this October; and

WHEREAS, Alexander is an International Baccalaureate student in math and history, and a member of the National Honor Society, the symphony orchestra, and the Crimson Camerata Chamber Choir; and,

WHEREAS, Alexander is a top-rated student at Lee's Summit North, scoring a 34 on the ACT, making him eligible for a Bright Flight Scholarship, and he is ranked in the top three percent of his class with over a 4.0 grade point average; and,

WHEREAS, in addition to playing the clarinet, Alexander has also been a drum major for three years and has played the piano since the fourth grade, earning an Honorable Mention at the Missouri Federation of Music Clubs state competition; and,

WHEREAS, in 2011, Alexander traveled to Europe with People-to-People, an international organization founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to bring understanding and friendship through educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities among peoples of different countries and diverse cultures; and,

WHEREAS, Alexander looks forward to earning an advanced degree in music education and teaching at the university level; and,
