Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 9435 dated October 13, 1992, the Purchasing Director solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 91-92 for the furnishing of employee group life insurance for use countywide; and,
WHEREAS, he received sixteen (16) responses from various vendors, with only one vendor, TransGeneral Life Insurance Company, the County's current provider, meeting the specifications of the bid; and,
WHEREAS, the Administration and ad hoc Risk Insurance Committee now recommend that the contract with TransGeneral Life Insurance Company be extended for an additional two-year period as provided in the terms and conditions of Bid No. 91-92 and with the minimal increase in rates and an option of an additional employee-purchased $50,000 life benefit; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that an extension be made as recommended by the Administration and Risk Insurance Committee that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are included in the then current Jackson County budget...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
