Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission was empowered by Ordinance #1771, #1795 and #1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti- Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed a proposal from The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence to provide counseling and treatment for convicted offenders who are returning under the supervision of probation and parole to home neighborhoods; and,

WHEREAS, this program, Opportunity to Succeed (OPTS), will provide transitional assistance to assist the offenders with remaining drug free; and,

WHEREAS, the OPTS program is supported with funding from the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University and the National Institute of Justice; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has carefully reviewed this 1995 proposal from NCADD; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has recommended funding in the amount of $43,326 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax for NCADD's OPTS program; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement, a copy is incorporated herein by reference, with NCADD...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
