WHEREAS, Pete Levi is retiring after nineteen years as President and CEO of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce; and,
WHEREAS, Peter deSilva, Chamber First Vice-Chair, stated that Pete contributed to the growth of the Greater Kansas City region and has been an important force in creating the more regional mindset in this two-state community; and,
WHEREAS, Pete serves on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Symphony, the Hawthorn Foundation, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Board of Trustees, the Midwest Research Institute Board of Trustees, the Board of Advisors of University of Kansas Edwards Campus, the Advancement Board of the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Kansas Hospital, the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, the Jewish Community Foundation, and the Workforce Investment Board; and,
WHEREAS, Pete stated that he will be leaving the Chamber to begin a new chapter in his life, which places an emphasis on family, continued service to the community, intellectual challenges, and more time for personal indulgences; and,
WHEREAS, Pete's wife, Enid, and two sons, Josh and Jeff, all join in Pete's celebration of the beginning of this new chapter of his life upon retirement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and congratulates Pete Levi for his outstanding dedication and service to the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and to the community throug...
