Body
WHEREAS, Mark Bryant, a Rouse Frets White Goss Gentile Rhodes attorney recognized as one of the best land use and public law lawyers in the Kansas City metropolitan area, is retiring after a 50-year legal career; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Bryant was a former member of the City Council in Kansas City, Missouri, his experience with codes that affect real estate development gave him an edge to help developers and public agencies; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Bryant has worked with large retailers, public utility companies, and real estate developers to obtain the land use approvals and entitlements needed to conduct business; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Bryant, has represented high-profile clients seeking variances, special use permits, zoning changes, annexation, eminent domain, and redevelopment incentives in Missouri and Kansas; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Bryant, in 2015 received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned his law degree after completing his bachelor's from the University of Central Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, in addition to serving on the Kansas City Council, Mr. Bryant was a member of the city's Tax Increment Financing Commission, Land Clearance for Redevelopment Corporation, and Economic Development Corporation; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Bryant is also a member of local, state and national bar associations; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Bryant also served as president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Board of Directors, a member of the Friends of the Kansas City Zoo Executive Committee, and Executive Director of the Onyx Development Corporation in Kansas City; and,
