Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Transportation is replacing the Route 40 bridges over the Little Blue River and the East Fork of the Little Blue River; and,

WHEREAS, in order to accomplish those replacements, it is necessary that the Missouri Department of Transportation acquire 0.73 acres of right-of-way in the Little Blue Trace Park; and,

WHEREAS, because of restrictions on this property administered by the United States National Park Service, the Missouri Department of Transportation must replace the property with other property of equal value and recreational utility; and,

WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Transportation has identified certain replacement property of 1.004 acres adjacent to Blue River Parkway, pending approval by the National Park Service as meeting the requirements of the restrictions on the park land; and,

WHEREAS, this land conversion is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached General Warranty Deed in favor of the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission and that the County accepts a Quit-Claim Deed from the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission in favor of the County.
