AN ORDINANCE transferring $176,000.00 within the Public Building Corporation and appropriating $352,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund in acceptance of a grant awarded by the National Park Service for the Fort Osage Education Center Project and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Modification of the Agreement regarding this project.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3281, dated August 19, 2002, Ordinance 3390, dated August 4, 2003, Ordinance 3421, dated September 22, 2003, and Ordinance 3496 dated May 10, 2004, the County has previously accepted grants from the National Park Service for the Fort Osage Education Center Project and executed agreements and prior modifications to agreements regarding this project; and,
WHEREAS, the National Park Service has now awarded the County an additional grant for this project in the amount of $176,000.00, requiring a local match of $176,000.00, for a total additional sum of $352,000.00 and execution of the 4th modification by the County Executive; and,
WHEREAS, this grant provides funding for design and fabrication services for interpretive museum displays for the Fort Osage Education Center; and,
WHEREAS, the grant period is April 29, 2005 through September 1, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary for the required 2005 Grant Fund match; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be made:
