Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 91-01 for the furnishing of group life insurance for use countywide; and,
WHEREAS, he received four (4) responses from various vendors who met the specifications of the bid order; and,
WHEREAS, MetLife provided the lowest unit cost for life and accidental death and dismemberment which was substantially lower than current premiums; and,
WHEREAS, MetLife provided no rate increase for the supplemental life insurance; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources now recommends that contract with MetLife Insurance Company be awarded for a three year period as provided in the terms and conditions of Bid No. 91-01; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Human Resources and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
