AN ORDINANCE appropriating $320,484.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Anti-Crime Sales Tax Grant Fund, in acceptance of the 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant awarded to the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force.

Body
 WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has awarded the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant Grant (JAG) in the amount of $320,484.00, for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026; and,
WHEREAS, the JAG program is administered by the Missouri Department of Public Safety; and, 
WHEREAS, the grant proceeds will provide partial funding for the salaries of five detectives; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the grant and in the proper spending accounts; and, 
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends an appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within and appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Anti-Crime Sales Tax Grant Fund be and hereby are made:
