Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City would like to partner with Jackson County on a project to restore natural areas along Blue River which includes areas within Jackson County's Blue River Parkway; and,
WHEREAS, this mutually beneficial agreement will result in beautification along Blue River Parkway; and,
WHEREAS, the work will include removal of invasive species and the planting of new trees and native landscape; and,
WHEREAS, other non-profit organizations like Heartland Conservation Alliance will join the City of Kansas City through separate agreements, in the effort to provide educational programs and volunteer opportunities; and,
WHEREAS, the Parks + Rec Department requests the approval of the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City for the Blue River Greenway Restoration Project; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City, MO, on behalf of the County.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
