Title
AN ORDINANCE transferring $144,671.00 within and appropriating $217,006.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to cover the Drug Abatement Response Team (DART) grant for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office funded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety and the transfer of matching funds, accepting said grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Kansas City, MO, and the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners regarding the DART Team at a cost to the County not to exceed $91,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has been awarded a grant by the Missouri Department of Public Safety in the amount of $217,006, for its Drug Abatement Response Team (DART) program; and,
WHEREAS, this program is a cooperative effort among the office, the City of Kansas City's Fire and Codes Enforcements Departments, and the Kansas City Police Board, to shut down drug houses in the city; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a local match in the amount of $144,671; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation and transfer are necessary to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation and transfer; and,
WHEREAS, each year the County enters into a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Kansas City, Missouri Board of Police Commissioners, regarding the City's participation in the DART program; and,
WHEREAS, the parties desire to extend the City's participation in DART program for an additional one-year term, at a cost to the county not to exceed $91...
