A RESOLUTION awarding a contract for a replacement air conditioning unit at the Jackson County Election Board building, to The Wilson Group, Inc., of Greenwood, MO, under the terms and conditions of Invitation to Bid No. 14-11, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $60,693.00, and authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute change orders in an amount not to exceed $6,069.00, for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $66,762.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature did, by Ordinance 4162, dated October 18, 2009, accept a federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Initiative grant, to fund energy, efficiency, and conservation projects throughout the County; and,
WHEREAS, the air conditioning unit and cooling tower at the Jackson County Election Board offices in Independence, MO, are old, inefficient, and difficult to regulate; and,
WHEREAS the Facilities Management Division of the Public Works Department recommends using the grant funds to replace the Election Board AC unit with a more energy efficient model; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited formal written bids on Invitation to Bid No. 14-11 for the furnishing of a replacement air conditioner system for the Election Board offices; and,
WHEREAS, a total of twenty-four (24) notifications were distributed and two (2) responses were received, as follows:

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that award be made to The Wilson Group, Inc. of Greenwood, MO, as the lowest and best bidder; and,
