Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2791, dated March 9, 1998, the Legislature did appropriate $163,958.00 in grant funds received from the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the Prosecuting Attorney's KC Stop Violence Network Program; and,

WHEREAS, under this program, the County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and City Law and Neighborhood and Community Services Departments form a network to counteract domestic violence; and,

WHEREAS, under the grant application, the City was to receive an amount not to exceed $67,057.00, to fund an advocate/volunteer coordinator and two part-time prosecutor positions; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreement for Services provides a suitable mechanism by which these funds can be disbursed to the City; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement for services with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
