Body
WHEREAS, University of Missouri-Kansas City's Addictions Training Center provides substance abuse training for certified and student counselors employed by Jackson County treatment providers, teaching them to apply their knowledge and skills to the practice of treatment and prevention; and,
WHEREAS, University of Missouri-Kansas City has requested $150,000 to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to federal funds in the amount of $566,358 for the Addictions Training Center; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with University of Missouri-Kansas City for its Addictions Training Center; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
