Body
WHEREAS, COMBAT, in conjunction with the Missouri Division of Alcohol & Drug Abuse, is sponsoring a conference to be held September 27, 2012, at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City; and,

WHEREAS, the conference will have a series of workshops to assist in implementing evidenced-based practices within the community, which is consistent with the mission and goals of the COMBAT Drug Commission; and,


WHEREAS, the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center is being provided at no cost, but the County will be required to use the Foundation's designated catering service; and,

WHEREAS, the Drug Commission reviewed the conference plans and recommends the issuance of a purchase order for these services; and,

WHEREAS, approval of the proposal is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to execute a contract and any other documents necessary to give effect to this Resolution with American Food & Vending Service of Missouri, Inc., for the furnishing of catering services for use by COMBAT, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, at a cost to the County not to exceed $3,031.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the contract.
