Body
WHEREAS, Jennifer Carpenter of Lone Jack was named The Kansas City Star's female Scholar-Athletes of the Year for 2001; and,
WHEREAS, Jennifer ranks first in her class of 31at Lone Jack High, maintains a 4.0 GPA, and has eight varsity letters, four in basketball, two in volleyball, and two in softball; and,
WHEREAS, she scored 2,325 points during the last 4 years in girls basketball which placed her 17th all time among Missouri high schoolers; and,
WHEREAS, Jennifer is a member of the National Honor Society, a three year student council member, and vice-president of her senior class; and,
WHEREAS, she received a full scholarship to Evansville University; and,
WHEREAS, Jennifer is the daughter of Becky and Darrell Carpenter; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulate Jennifer Carpenter upon being named The Kansas City Star's female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2001.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
