Body
WHEREAS, the County has an ongoing need for the public disposition of its property by sale or value; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County to expand venues by which sales of surplus property are conducted to include the use of online services; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing recommends amending procedures related to the surplus of personal property owned by Jackson County by authorizing the sale of county property by way of online services; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:



Section A. Enacting Clause.

Sections 1136.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 1136.1, to read as follows:
1136.1 Where Conducted.
All auctions or garage sales shall be conducted on county property, unless the Director of Purchasing contracts with a qualified vendor or online service to conduct the auction or garage sale. In such cases, the auction or garage sale may be conducted online or at a site selected by the vendor and approved by the Director of Purchasing.



Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
