Title
AN ORDINANCE appropriating $32,085.46 from the fund balance of the 2010 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to fund a contractual interest payment and employee salaries and benefits for the Jackson County Drug Court program.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3791, dated July 24, 2006, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute an Interlocal Agreement as a component of the 2006 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice; and,
WHEREAS, section 5 of the Interlocal Agreement requires the County to establish a trust fund account and further requires the County to provide the City of Kansas City with half of the interest earned on the trust fund account at the close of the grant period; and,
WHEREAS, section 4 of the Interlocal Agreement authorizes funding for the Jackson County Drug Court program; and,
WHEREAS, the County's portion of the interest from the trust fund account is to be used to fund employee salaries and benefits for the Jackson County Drug Court program; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and is hereby made:
